Firestormin' and a Tournament on the 4th

So lately the guys at the FLGS have been playing what we like to call "SPACESHIPS" but what really is the fun and exciting (and recently updated) game by Spartan Games called Firestorm Armada.

If you have not heard Spartan Games, I do suggest checking them out, they have a variety of games and are currently expanding even further with their ground based game set in the Firestorm Armada universe called Planetfall where epic battles between ground troops, tanks and mechs will determine who controls the world that your space fleets have also been fighting over.

Hydra Flak... the answer to Wave Serpent Spam?

I know I have not posted a lot about Warhammer 40k in the past few months, and in truth I have not been deep into the game lately. Imperial Guard has gone a bit stale for me, and I just was not enjoying Chaos Marines like I thought I should, or would.

Yet I tried to keep up on the latest and greatest, and watched the new codex's move out into the world and create chaos on how the game can be played. The number one complaint that I have seen from those around me, is how crazy good the Wave Serpents are now, with their crazy amount of firepower, their ability to jink our of nearly everything, and then make any penetrating hits be reduced to glancing becomes quickly frustrating, and nearly impossible to deal with.

The current method to deal with them is to either dump ridiculous amounts of firepower into them, leaving the rest of his army untouched, or use a drop pod to plop down behind him and unload into the backside, making the shield worthless. The problem with that is against armies with intercept (aka Tau) that list gets blown out of the water. So what do we do?

A site in review, Roll20.net

For those of you out there who love RPGs I have a website that I have been doing a bit of research on called Roll20.net, that you might just be interested in. The site is an online tabletop, designed to allow a group of people from all over the internet meet up and play a bunch of different RPGs at different times of the day, any day of the week they so choose.

Adepticon is almost upon us!

With one of the biggest (and I consider best) tabletop gaming conventions nearly upon us in Adepticon things have been moving quickly around the local gaming store. People playing games, especially with the rate of new codexes for Warhammer 40k, and others desperately trying to assemble and paint the rest of their armies. I am seeing this include both Warmachine/Hordes as well as 40k. At our FLGS we have a wide section from both groups.
